Indie rock band Lambrini Girls announced they have canceled their scheduled appearance at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival due to a serious injury sustained by their guitarist, Phoebe Lunny. The band communicated the news on Wednesday via their social media channels, revealing Lunny suffered a fractured neck and an acute brain injury.

According to the statement, the injury occurred while the band was in Australia. Lunny was initially misdiagnosed, which delayed proper medical treatment. As a result, her doctors have advised against flying or performing for at least six weeks to facilitate recovery.

The cancellation affects the band’s planned Saturday performance at the festival in Indio, California. In addition, Lambrini Girls said they are postponing their entire American headline tour that was slated to follow Coachella. However, the group confirmed that their scheduled shows in the United Kingdom and Europe later in May remain on track.

The band did not provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the injury. Fans and industry observers expressed concern as the band navigates this unexpected setback. Organizers of Coachella have not issued a formal response to Lambrini Girls’ withdrawal.
