A 49-year-old man was fatally shot outside a park in Queens on Friday afternoon, according to law enforcement officials. The incident occurred around 2:21 p.m. near the intersection of Merrick Boulevard and Sayres Avenue, close to Archie Spigner Park in the South Jamaica neighborhood.

Authorities reported that the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Emergency responders transported the man to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
