A 29-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized in critical condition following a collision with a vehicle that fled the scene in the Bronx on Thursday night, authorities said.
The crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. near the intersection of Boston Road and East 211th Street in the Williamsbridge neighborhood. The motorcyclist was riding a 2020 Kawasaki when he struck the passenger side of a Toyota Sienna minivan that was turning onto East 211th Street. The impact caused the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle.
Emergency medical personnel rushed the injured man to Jacobi Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition as of Friday.
The driver of the minivan did not stop after the collision and was last seen traveling west on East 211th Street toward Laconia Avenue, according to police. No arrests have been made in connection with the hit-and-run.
Authorities are actively canvassing the area for surveillance video that may assist in locating the Toyota Sienna and its driver. The investigation remains ongoing.
