His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani led Eid al-Adha prayers alongside citizens at Lusail prayer ground yesterday morning. The prayer gathering included prominent figures such as His Highness the Personal Representative of the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al-Thani, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa al-Thani, and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani. Also present were HE the Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanem, members of the Shura Council, ministers, ambassadors, and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Qatar.
During the Eid sermon, Sheikh Yahya Bait al-Nuaimi emphasized the significance of adhering to Islamic rituals. He described these observances as reflections of piety and obedience to God. Sheikh Yahya highlighted Eid al-Adha as a spiritually important occasion that calls on Muslims to engage in devotion, gratitude, and worship. The sermon also underscored how the festival strengthens family bonds, revives religious traditions, and fosters a spirit of communal celebration. Additionally, Sheikh Yahya stressed the importance of Udhiya, the sacrificial offering central to the holiday’s rituals, encouraging Muslims to perform it in accordance with Islamic teachings.
Following the prayers, His Highness the Amir hosted a reception at Lusail Palace where he received well-wishers who offered Eid greetings. Among those who paid their respects were HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani and HE the Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanem. The reception was attended by Their Excellencies sheikhs, ministers, undersecretaries of ministries, members of the Shura Council, and groups of citizens.
