His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, led Eid Al Adha prayers at the Lusail prayer ground on Wednesday morning, joining citizens in marking one of the most significant events in the Islamic calendar. The prayer gathering was attended by senior members of the ruling family and government officials, including HH Personal Representative of the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani, and Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani. Also present were Speaker of the Shura Council HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, ministers, Shura Council members, as well as ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Qatar.

During the Eid sermon, Sheikh Dr. Yahya Bati Al Nuaimi emphasized the religious importance of Eid Al Adha as a time of devotion, gratitude, and communal worship. He highlighted the central role of Udhiya, the sacrificial offering, urging Muslims to observe this ritual in accordance with Islamic teachings. Eid Al Adha, often referred to as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God and is traditionally observed with prayers, charitable acts, and family gatherings across the Muslim world.

Following the prayers, the Amir received well-wishers at Lusail Palace who came to extend their greetings on the occasion. Attendees included Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Shura Council Speaker HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, their Excellencies sheikhs, ministers, undersecretaries of ministries, members of the Shura Council, and groups of citizens. The reception was also attended by HH Personal Representative of the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, and HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Through his official social media account, HH the Amir extended Eid Al Adha greetings to citizens, residents, and the wider Muslim community, wishing for peace, reassurance, and prosperity. The celebrations across Qatar reflected the holiday’s themes of faith, community, and charitable giving, bringing together people in a spirit of devotion and festivity.
