The General Directorate of Endowments at Qatar’s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, known as Awqaf, distributed 4,000 gifts to children in 19 mosques across the country as part of its ‘Eid Joy’ initiative coinciding with Eid al-Adha. The distribution took place during Eid prayers and aimed to enhance the social impact of endowments while fostering a joyful atmosphere during the religious holiday.

The ‘Eid Joy’ program drew broad participation from families and children, contributing to the festive environment and reflecting the humanitarian and social values promoted by Awqaf. The initiative is one among several community programs organized by the Directorate to maximize the role of endowments in serving different sectors of society, especially during significant religious occasions that possess both spiritual and social importance.

Engineer Hassan Abdullah al-Marzouqi, Director-General of the General Directorate of Endowments, described the initiative as an extension of Awqaf’s community engagement, emphasizing its role in promoting the culture of endowments and reinforcing values associated with Eid al-Adha. He highlighted the Directorate’s focus on sharing the joy of religious celebrations with children and its commitment to broadening the societal benefits of endowments.

Al-Marzouqi also noted that the initiative represents Awqaf’s dedication to increasing the social contributions of endowments and utilizing them as a tool for sustainable development and humanitarian support on various occasions. He acknowledged that such efforts help strengthen community cohesion and embody the spirit of service that endowments aim to provide.

Expressing gratitude to donors, particularly those who contributed to the Masraf Waqfi for Family and Childhood, the Director-General praised their generosity, which was instrumental in achieving the goals of the ‘Eid Joy’ initiative. He reaffirmed the Directorate’s ongoing commitment to launching impactful community initiatives that respond to societal needs and promote positive values in line with its mission to serve humanity through endowments.
