Approximately 150 people gathered outside Norwich City Hall on Tuesday to protest following the charging of seven refugees with rape and child sexual abuse offenses. Demonstrators carried large St George’s flags and displayed a banner reading “Stop importing, start deporting” during the event, which involved speeches broadcast via loudspeaker outside the council building.

The protest was organized through social media in response to allegations against the seven men, who are accused of operating a grooming gang from 2023 to 2025. Norfolk Police reported that two of the alleged victims were between early and mid-teens. However, authorities clarified that none of the charged individuals had been housed at asylum accommodation facilities within Norfolk.

Legal proceedings are ongoing, with the seven defendants remanded in custody by city magistrates until their next court appearance scheduled for June 19 at crown court. Police and local officials monitored the demonstration but reported no incidents of disorder during the protest.
