A 28-year-old drama student from Greenwich, South London, has undergone a £9,000 facelift as part of a series of cosmetic procedures aimed at achieving a "cats-eye look" inspired by supermodel Bella Hadid. Antonia Higham, who has spent approximately £20,000 on previous treatments, completed her latest operation in Turkey in March despite medical advice against the surgery.
Higham began receiving cosmetic treatments at age 18, starting with lip fillers. She described the process as becoming addictive and had her first surgical procedure—a rhinoplasty—at 21, motivated in part by past bullying related to the size of her nose. Since then, her enhancements have included Botox injections and breast augmentation performed last year.
Although some social media users have criticized her appearance following her most recent surgery, with some describing it as alien-like, Higham expressed satisfaction with the results. She chose not to inform her parents about the facelift to avoid worrying them and said that once she had the financial means, she decided to proceed despite doctors advising against it.
Her experience highlights ongoing debates around cosmetic surgery, particularly among young adults who seek to alter features influenced by personal insecurities and social media beauty standards.
