Jason Manford is set to appear in a guest role on Channel 5’s crime drama series The Good Ship Murder, marking his first television appearance since his 2024 role as head teacher Steve Savage in the BBC school drama Waterloo Road. The Good Ship Murder, which follows a detective-turned-cruise ship singer solving murder cases, regularly features guest stars in its episodes.

Insiders have indicated that Manford’s appearance is limited to a single episode, but production executives are reportedly enthusiastic about his involvement. There have even been discussions about a possible musical duet between Manford and series star Shayne Ward, known for his previous work on Coronation Street. Ward’s character blends investigative work with performances aboard the cruise ship, contributing a unique angle to the crime drama.

The series has attracted a number of well-known actors for guest spots. Recently, it was announced that Anita Dobson, famed for her role in EastEnders, traveled to Malta to film her episode. Filming for the upcoming series continues, with additional prominent casting expected, ahead of a planned broadcast later this year.
