Jordan’s Minister of Culture Mustafa Rawashdeh has highlighted the close cultural ties between Jordan and Qatar during the 35th Doha International Book Fair (DIBF), which opened recently in Doha. Speaking at the event, Rawashdeh commended Qatar’s position as a regional cultural hub and expressed pride in the active participation of Jordanian publishing houses at the fair.
The minister emphasized the importance of Jordan’s publishing sector, describing it as a key creative industry that receives substantial support and attention from the Ministry of Culture. According to Rawashdeh, the participation of Jordanian publishers and visitors at the DIBF demonstrates the role of such fairs in promoting communication and cultural exchange between nations.
He further noted that book fairs serve as vital platforms for fostering dialogue and knowledge-sharing, which, in his view, contribute to the building of civilizations and closer international relations. The minister’s remarks underscore the significance of cultural cooperation between Jordan and Qatar and reflect the broader regional efforts to elevate literary and intellectual engagement through major events like the Doha International Book Fair.
