Kuwait is showcasing a wide range of cultural, intellectual, and heritage publications at the 35th Doha International Book Fair (DIBF), highlighting its sustained contributions to Arab cultural discourse. Khalifa al-Rabah, director of the Book Fairs and Distribution Department at Kuwait’s National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), emphasized that Kuwait’s participation provides a key platform to present its diverse literary and cultural offerings.
The Kuwaiti pavilion has attracted considerable public attention and a strong visitor presence, largely due to its display of well-known periodicals and publication series. These include titles such as World of Knowledge, Al-Arabi Magazine, Global Creativity, World Culture, World of Thought, and Cultural Heritage. According to al-Rabah, these publications serve to represent Kuwait’s cultural identity and its ongoing role in enriching the Arab intellectual landscape.
Al-Rabah also underscored that Kuwait’s involvement in the DIBF is consistent with the NCCAL’s broader strategic goals. This includes fostering collaborative cultural initiatives among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. He pointed out that the fair strengthens cooperative ties and facilitates knowledge exchange, reflecting the close cultural relationship between Kuwait and Qatar.
In addition to Kuwait’s contributions, al-Rabah praised the overall organization of the event and the quality of services provided to participants. He highlighted the extensive accompanying cultural programming as a factor contributing to the fair’s effective execution and ongoing success. This year’s edition of the DIBF continues to serve as a major hub for cultural engagement and intellectual exchange within the region.
