The Qatari Haj Mission successfully executed a comprehensive transportation plan for its pilgrims during the 1447 AH Haj season, utilizing the Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro to facilitate their movement between key holy sites in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. The mission’s Communication and Support Unit coordinated closely with Saudi authorities to ensure the safety, efficiency, and comfort of Qatari pilgrims as they performed their rituals.
The plan, aligning with the strategic objectives of Qatar’s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, aimed to enhance service quality and provide a secure, organized pilgrimage experience. Pilgrims were transported via the metro from Mina to Arafat for the central rite of Haj, followed by a well-coordinated transfer from Arafat to Muzdalifah after sunset. This careful scheduling sought to reduce congestion amid large crowds and high temperatures, addressing logistical challenges common during the pilgrimage.
Throughout the operation, Qatari field support teams managed crowd control, offered real-time assistance, and maintained continuous communication with campaign guides to promptly address emergencies or inquiries. These teams were stationed at pilgrims’ accommodations, metro stations, and on-site locations to provide direct support, helping ensure the smooth flow of movement.
Mohammed Yousef al-Hammadi, owner of Al Hammadi Haj and Umrah Campaign, commended the detailed organizational efforts, highlighting the metro plan’s role in facilitating rapid and comfortable transfers. Initially, some campaigns expressed reservations about relying on the metro, but the execution exceeded expectations, with seamless journeys between Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. Al-Hammadi also praised the Holy Sites Services Unit for preparing well-equipped camps in Muzdalifah, providing seating, catering, and logistical support that enhanced pilgrims’ comfort following the Day of Arafah.
Similarly, Ahmed Yousef al-Mulla, owner of the Taiba Haj and Umrah campaign, lauded the Communication and Support Unit’s continuous on-the-ground presence and responsive coordination. He noted the unit’s effective traffic management and adaptations that prevented delays, contributing to an uninterrupted flow between the holy sites. Al-Mulla also emphasized the high standards of service at the Muzdalifah camp, expressing gratitude toward the Qatari Haj Mission for its dedication to pilgrims’ wellbeing.
The mission’s efforts reflect Qatar’s broader commitment, under its leadership’s guidance, to deliver high-quality support and services to its Haj pilgrims. Through ongoing operational and technical measures, the Qatari Haj Mission strives to facilitate a safe, tranquil, and well-organized pilgrimage, embodying continuous improvements in the care provided to its nationals performing the religious rites.
