Muhammad Shameer Farriez Amir Nizam, a 10-year-old student from SK Seberang Ramai in Kangar, Perlis, has taken on significant caregiving responsibilities to support his mother, Juraimie Ramli, who is 42 and suffers from a debilitating nerve condition that has left her wheelchair-bound. Despite his young age, Muhammad Shameer assists with his mother’s daily needs, including preparing her breakfast and tidying the home each morning before attending school.

Juraimie Ramli, who relies on her son’s help due to her limited mobility, explained that Muhammad Shameer also helps out with household chores during weekends. Although he carries these responsibilities, the boy does not view them as a burden. In addition to his caregiving duties, he supplements the family’s income by selling ice cream, demonstrating early entrepreneurial spirit.

Muhammad Shameer expressed that his biggest wish is for his mother’s health to improve and for their family to have sufficient means to meet their needs. He also harbors a dream of becoming a singer in the future.

Juraimie, who earns between RM200 and RM300 monthly by packing goods for online sellers, is mindful of her son's youth and the importance of allowing him to enjoy his childhood. She tries to provide him with sports accessories and toys whenever she can afford to do so, balancing her financial constraints with his emotional well-being.

Their story highlights the resilience of a young boy managing caregiving and income-generating activities amid challenging family circumstances, underscoring the broader issues faced by families coping with chronic health conditions and limited financial resources.
