More than £100,000 has been raised to support the family of a three-year-old boy who was seriously injured after being thrown into a crocodile enclosure at a zoo in Cambridgeshire. The incident occurred on June 18 at Johnsons of Old Hurst, located near Huntingdon.

The boy underwent seven surgical operations following the attack and, according to his family, has shown significant progress in recovery. In a recent update shared on a fundraising page, they described him as “smiling again” and expressed hope of returning home soon, while acknowledging that the recovery process is ongoing.

The fundraising effort, hosted on GoFundMe, has gathered around £105,000 so far, with donations coming from numerous supporters. The largest single contribution was a £2,500 anonymous donation.

Police arrested a 30-year-old man from Norfolk in connection with the incident on suspicion of attempted murder. He was reportedly on a trip with carers at the time and is understood to have learning difficulties. Authorities later released him on bail but noted he was “not fit for interview” during the initial stages of the investigation. An inquiry has been launched into the circumstances surrounding his care.
