A recent poll has identified the 1990s as the nation’s favourite decade, with simplicity of life cited as the primary reason for its popularity. The survey, conducted among 2,000 participants by the Bingo Association, found that 36% of respondents favored the 1990s, followed by 27% who preferred the 1980s.

Respondents highlighted several cultural elements that defined the 1990s, notably better music and entertainment, as well as less time spent on screens compared to contemporary habits. Renting films from video rental shops emerged as the most commonly recalled activity associated with the decade, reflecting a period before the widespread availability of on-demand streaming.

The period’s vibrant club and rave scene also garnered favorable mention, illustrating the cultural appeal of nightlife in the 1990s. Television programming was another significant factor in the decade’s appeal, with the sitcom "Friends" ranked as the top trend from that era.

The poll results suggest a nostalgic appreciation for the 1990s lifestyle and cultural environment, characterized by a perceived simplicity and distinct entertainment offerings that contrast with today’s digital age.
