Two people were killed and several others injured in a shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon, authorities said. The incident unfolded around 2 p.m. local time, prompting a swift law enforcement response.

According to Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks, the shooter opened fire inside the restaurant before moving outside. The suspect was subsequently killed, though details about how the suspect was neutralized have not been released. Officials have not confirmed the total number of casualties or the exact number of people involved in the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing.

An eyewitness, Lane Koehn, 34, described seeing the attacker carrying what he identified as an AR-style rifle emerge from the drive-thru area. Another individual, armed with a pistol, then began firing at the suspect. Koehn also recounted how an employee rushed to assist a wounded co-worker who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Koehn, the employee, and the armed man stayed with the injured woman until emergency medical personnel arrived.

In response to the shooting, authorities closed the Perrine Bridge and surrounding roads to secure the area. Several nearby businesses, including those in an adjacent shopping center and near Dick’s Sporting Goods, were placed on lockdown. The Magic Valley Mall also implemented a lockdown as a precaution.

St. Luke’s Magic Valley hospital urged the public to avoid non-emergency visits at the facility while the situation was being handled. Local officials have not released further information regarding the motive behind the shooting or additional details about the injured parties.
