The 2026 Inter-State and Region Judo Championships advanced to the knockout and final stages on the morning of September 10 at Gymnasium C of the Wunna Theikdhi Sports Complex in Nay Pyi Taw. The event, jointly organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education and the Myanmar Judo Federation, featured competitions across multiple weight categories for both men and women.
In the men’s divisions, Wai Yan Lin of Yangon secured the under-42-kilogram title, Khine Khant of Yangon captured the under-50-kilogram crown, Phyo Mann Naing of Kayah took first place in the under-55-kilogram category, and Wai Lin Htwe of Ayeyawady emerged victorious in the under-60-kilogram division.
On the women’s side, the under-42-kilogram title was claimed by Ei Chit Su San representing Yangon, while Hnin Wut Hmon Lwin of Ayeyawady won the under-52-kilogram competition. Bam Taung of Kachin earned the under-57-kilogram championship, and Sanda Win from Chin secured the top spot in the under-63-kilogram class.
Following the conclusion of the bouts, officials from the Myanmar Judo Federation awarded medals and cash prizes to both the champions and runners-up.
The championships will continue with the Mixed Team competition on September 11, starting at 10 a.m. The event will include knockout rounds, a third-place match, and the final bouts. Admission to the competition is free, and the finals, along with the prize presentation ceremony, will be broadcast live on MRTV HD, MRTV Sports Channel, and MRTV Entertainment.
