A fundraiser has collected £225,000 (€193,000) to support a family seriously injured in a traffic accident in County Kildare, Ireland. The campaign was organised by a friend of one of the injured women, who described the family’s situation as “facing a long and challenging road ahead.”

The collision occurred in the early hours of Sunday when a car travelling the wrong way on the M9 motorway collided head-on with the family’s vehicle. Three sisters—Ella Hendricken, Niamh Kinsella, and Alma Kinsella—aged in their 20s and 30s, along with a young boy, sustained severe injuries in the crash.

Authorities reported that the vehicle moving against traffic was driven by five teenagers in a stolen car. All five occupants of that vehicle died at the scene. Emergency services responded promptly, but the severity of the impact resulted in the tragic loss of life and significant injuries to the family members.

The fundraiser aims to provide financial assistance to cover medical expenses and rehabilitation costs for the injured family members. The incident has drawn considerable public sympathy, reflected in the rapid accumulation of donations.
