A 35-year-old man in North Maluku, Indonesia, was killed by a 23-foot python that subsequently swallowed him whole, authorities reported. The victim, identified as Hasim Lumbessy, was walking alone through a forest after attending a party when the incident occurred.

Search teams later discovered the unusually large snake with a visibly swollen body, prompting them to capture and euthanize the animal. Upon dissecting the python, rescuers found the victim inside.
