Nissan has unveiled the 2026 Pathfinder, maintaining its reliance on a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 engine rather than adopting the turbocharged four-cylinder trend seen among competitors. The engine produces 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, pairing with a nine-speed automatic transmission that replaces the continuously variable transmission (CVT) used previously. This combination aims to offer smoother and more responsive power delivery, with a towing capacity rated at 6,000 pounds on the Platinum trim.

The SUV’s exterior receives a mid-cycle refresh, featuring a new gloss-black mesh grille and redesigned LED headlights, moving away from the former chrome-accented style. The Platinum 4WD model showcased in red and black two-tone paint is equipped with 20-inch machine-finished alloy wheels, satin badges, and power-folding side mirrors, contributing to a more premium appearance.

Inside, Nissan has significantly updated the interior with new technology offerings. The previous screens have been replaced by a centrally mounted 12.3-inch touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster of the same size. The top-tier trim also includes a head-up display, a 13-speaker Bose premium audio system, and a 15-watt MagSafe wireless charger. Notably, Nissan preserves physical controls for climate settings and volume, enhancing usability.

Comfort features in the 2026 Pathfinder are highlighted by quilted semi-aniline leather seats that offer heating and ventilation. A panoramic moonroof helps brighten the cabin, while the second-row EZ-FLEX captain’s chairs can tilt forward easily, even when child safety seats are installed, a feature beneficial for families. However, the third row remains somewhat confined for adult passengers, and the cargo space behind it measures 16.6 cubic feet, which may limit overall storage capacity for longer trips.

Despite challenges faced by Nissan in recent years, the Pathfinder continues to aim for a balanced package that combines dependable powertrain choices with upscale design touches and user-friendly technology. The 2026 revision underscores Nissan’s effort to provide consumers with a practical, well-equipped three-row SUV in a competitive market segment.
