Three men were stabbed in a food-related altercation early Wednesday in New York City’s Lower East Side, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. at the intersection of Bowery and Delancey Street. According to police, a 26-year-old man from Queens was dining in the area when a man dressed in a top hat became involved in a dispute with him. During the confrontation, the man wearing the top hat allegedly stabbed the Queens resident in the stomach.

Two bystanders who intervened to separate the individuals were also injured, suffering cuts in the process. All three victims received medical attention, though their current conditions have not been disclosed by officials.

The motive behind the argument remains unclear, and police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the stabbing. No arrests have been reported at this time.
