A 3-year-old boy who was abducted during a home invasion in Van Nuys on Wednesday morning has been located, according to officials. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a reported home invasion at approximately 8:13 a.m. in the 7600 block of Van Nuys Boulevard.
Authorities said the suspect fled the scene with the child in a black Ford Explorer that had no license plate. The suspect was described as wearing a black shirt and black sweatpants. The boy’s whereabouts were unknown until he was found at about 12:30 p.m., though police have not disclosed where or how he was recovered.
No information has been released about the relationship between the suspect and the child, and investigators have not confirmed whether the suspect is currently in custody. The identities of both the child and the suspect have not been made public. The investigation remains ongoing.
