A group of 30 cybersecurity professionals graduated from the inaugural National Cybersecurity Leadership Programme in Muscat on Saturday. The ceremony took place under the patronage of Mulham bin Bashir al Jarf, Vice-Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA).

Launched to develop and empower 100 national experts over two years, the programme aims to strengthen Oman’s capabilities in addressing increasingly complex cybersecurity challenges. It is a key component of the OIA’s broader strategy to fulfill the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 by fostering a secure, competitive, and innovation-driven digital ecosystem grounded in world-class national expertise.

Designed to build a cadre of skilled professionals, the programme focuses on enhancing decision-making skills, bolstering organizational resilience, and raising national cybersecurity proficiency. Participants are selected from government agencies and critical sectors across the country to ensure a comprehensive approach to national cyber defense.

The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Oman Technology Council (OTC) and PwC Middle East, reflecting a commitment to accelerating digital transformation and supporting the growth of a knowledge-based economy. Throughout the two-year course, participants engaged in a robust curriculum featuring executive education, crisis simulation exercises, opportunities for peer collaboration, and strategic leadership engagement.

Graduates of the programme are expected to play a vital role in protecting Oman’s critical digital infrastructure while contributing to the country’s broader goals of enhancing national cyber resilience and advancing innovation within the digital space.
