Border Patrol agents apprehended a total of 34 undocumented immigrants in two separate smuggling operations near Westmorland, California, officials reported on Wednesday. The incidents occurred within the El Centro Sector, a key area for border enforcement activity.

In the first operation, agents stopped a Chevrolet Tahoe transporting seven undocumented migrants. Shortly afterward, a second bust took place when officers discovered 27 individuals hidden inside a mini bottom dump trailer. Authorities characterized the latter incident as a particularly hazardous smuggling attempt due to the confined and unsafe conditions inside the vehicle.

No injuries were reported in either case. The apprehensions came amid ongoing efforts by Border Patrol to disrupt human smuggling networks along the southern border.

Officials described the back-to-back busts as a setback for smugglers operating in the region. In a public message posted on social media, Border Patrol emphasized a firm stance on immigration enforcement, stating that anyone present in the United States illegally will be located, arrested, and removed.

The two incidents underscore continued challenges faced by enforcement agencies in curbing the flow of undocumented migrants through dangerous and illegal means.
