A group of six friends set a new record by visiting 38 Wetherspoons pubs in a single day, covering 78 miles across London over the course of 17 hours and 30 minutes. The marathon pub crawl began at 7 a.m. at The Barrel Vault inside St Pancras International station and included travel by foot, Tube, bus, and boat as the group made their way between venues.

Stephen Angell, who led the group alongside friends Cam, Ed, Ryan N, Ryan M, and Doug, said they carefully planned their route to surpass the previous record of 37 pubs visited within a day. The challenge involved a significant physical effort, with approximately 26 miles walked during the crawl, as well as time spent on public transport and river travel.

Throughout the day, the group documented their progress with photos shared online, maintaining engagement with followers while keeping to a demanding schedule. Angell expressed satisfaction with their achievement and indicated plans to attempt a more ambitious target next year, aiming to visit 40 pubs. He noted that reaching this goal would require extending their route beyond central London, as the team has now visited all Wetherspoons locations in the capital’s core.

A Wetherspoons spokesperson acknowledged the feat, commending the group’s commitment to their undertaking. The company did not provide additional details but expressed support for the record-setting effort.
