Rapper Curtis Jackson, known professionally as 50 Cent, unsuccessfully sought to secure bail for a member of his tour staff who was sentenced to prison in the United Kingdom for drug trafficking. Jackson offered to pay £50,000 to allow Samir Hassan, 37, to be released on bail ahead of joining the rapper on his European Legacy Tour.

Hassan was convicted at Derby Crown Court on July 10 for his involvement in a criminal group that distributed high-purity cocaine throughout Derbyshire. The gang members collectively received prison sentences totaling 160 years. Despite Jackson’s plea, the court declined the bail request.

In a letter to the court, Jackson emphasized Hassan’s importance to his international operations, describing him as “an essential part of my international team” and responsible for managing food and beverage services during the tour. Jackson made it clear that there was no indication Hassan was aware of or involved in the criminal activities for which he was convicted.

The case highlights the challenges faced by public figures when staff members become implicated in criminal proceedings, and it underscores the severe penalties imposed on drug trafficking networks operating in the UK.
