5th training on GACC export rice registration procedures held

The Myanmar Rice Federation conducted its fifth training on Chinese customs export registration procedures for rice products to guide companies on compliance with relevant safety and quality standards. This initiative aims to improve Myanmar's rice export compliance and competitiveness in China and other international markets by supporting exporters in meeting evolving regulatory requirements.

The Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) hosted its fifth training session on the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) export registration procedures for rice and broken rice on September 9. The event took place at the Mingala Hall of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) in Yangon.

The training focused on the requirements companies must meet to export rice products to China, as stipulated under the Sanitary and Phyto-sanitary Protocol between Myanmar and China. These requirements include compliance with standards related to warehouse pest control, food safety, and proper storage and milling practices.

In addition to addressing the specifics of the GACC registration process, the course covered broader topics such as export procedures to European, African, and other Asian markets, along with warehouse registration through the Myanmar Rice Online system (MyRO).

According to the MRF, adherence to these procedures is expected to enhance food safety and quality control, supporting Myanmar’s position in international rice markets. The federation organizes these training sessions annually to assist exporters in meeting evolving standards and regulations.

This 2024 session drew 80 participants representing 37 companies, reflecting ongoing industry engagement in strengthening export readiness and compliance.
