Rescue teams recovered 76 bodies following a fire aboard the passenger ferry MV June Aster, which reached a port in western Philippines on Saturday. Thirteen individuals remain unaccounted for as search operations continue to locate additional victims believed to be inside the vessel.

The ferry had been en route from Manila when the blaze occurred, according to the Philippine coastguard. Of the 132 people on board, 43 survived the incident. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire.

Efforts to retrieve the missing passengers are ongoing, with emergency responders working under challenging conditions to complete the search. Investigators are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident to establish what led to the fire aboard the MV June Aster.
