An 82-year-old man died following a confrontation over a sun lounger at a beach near Athens, Greece, authorities reported. The incident occurred at Vouliagmeni, a popular seaside resort area, where the elderly man became involved in a dispute with a 76-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman.

According to police, the disagreement began when the 82-year-old refused to relinquish one of six available sun loungers to the young woman, who is reported to have a disability. The verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation between the two men. During the scuffle, the older man sustained serious injuries and later collapsed. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

Following the incident, the 76-year-old man and the 21-year-old woman were taken into custody. Greek authorities have initiated a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. The older man has been charged with causing fatal bodily harm.
