An elderly man was assaulted and robbed outside a bank in Queens last week, according to police reports. The 89-year-old victim had just exited the Capitol One branch on Jamaica Avenue near Sutphin Boulevard around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday when he was physically attacked by a younger assailant.

Authorities said the suspect, described as being between 18 and 25 years old, threw the man to the ground, kicked him, and took $1,300 in cash along with a $10 necklace. The victim sustained injuries in the incident but details on the extent of his condition were not immediately available.

As of Tuesday, the suspect had not been apprehended, and law enforcement officials continue to seek information from the public. The investigation remains active as officers review surveillance footage and pursue leads in the case.

The attack highlights ongoing concerns regarding crimes targeting vulnerable individuals in the area. Police urge residents to remain cautious and report any suspicious behavior to help prevent similar incidents.
