Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) has returned for its 2024 edition, running from July 2 through August 30. The annual festival offers residents two months of discounts, entertainment, dining, and family activities across the city.
One of the key highlights this year is the chance to win a residential unit through the new "Win Your Home in Dubai" campaign. Twelve apartments valued at over 50 million dirhams will be awarded throughout the event. So far, two winners—an Indian resident and a Kazakh resident—have received studio apartments.
Car enthusiasts also have opportunities to win vehicles, with 35 cars available through various raffles and promotions. For example, shoppers spending 200 dirhams at designated malls may enter a draw to win one of several Exeed cars. Jewellery shoppers can participate in a City of Gold promotion by spending 500 dirhams at participating retailers, with a total of 3 kilograms of gold up for grabs.
Cash prizes are featured as well. Purchasing a 50-dirham Winner Pack from ENOC or Zoom outlets grants entry into a draw to win 500,000 dirhams along with a Dongfeng 007 car.
Shoppers can expect significant discounts through the Great Dubai Summer Sale, with markdowns of up to 90 percent on a wide range of items, including fashion, electronics, beauty products, and home furnishings. Flash sales and themed shopping weekends will also be held throughout the festival.
Food enthusiasts are invited to take part in Summer Restaurant Week, which runs from July 13 to August 2 and offers specially curated menus at over 60 restaurants. Adding to the dining incentives, more than 700 outlets will participate in the Dh10 Dish campaign throughout August, providing selected dishes at affordable prices.
The festival's entertainment lineup includes the return of the Beat the Heat concert series, featuring local and regional artists such as Cairokee, Dystinct, Issam Alnajjar, Talal Sam, Sultan Murshed, and Rasha Rizk.
Family-friendly options include visits to Modesh World, the Baby Shark experience, live shows, workshops for children, and indoor activities designed to keep young residents engaged during the summer months.
For those considering staycations, DSS offers nearly 200 hotel and attraction deals ranging from luxury accommodations to family resorts, many available exclusively to residents.
In preparation for the new academic year, DSS also introduces back-to-school shopping promotions and activities, including the Back-to-School Carnival.
Beyond these major attractions, the festival will feature a variety of live performances, mall activations, pop-up markets, fashion events, sports activities, and citywide experiences aimed at encouraging residents to explore and enjoy Dubai throughout the summer season.
