According to accounts from residents, three individuals wearing face coverings were observed attempting to enter multiple vehicles, including the station wagon and a neighbour’s car. Security camera footage captured the suspects as they prowled the street. Despite efforts to conceal their identities, the perpetrators left behind a key piece of evidence: a new golf ball found inside the targeted vehicle.

Law enforcement officials are using the discovery to narrow the scope of their investigation. The presence of the golf ball is significant because the Yamba Golf Club boasts approximately 2,800 members, representing nearly half of the town’s population. Local golf enthusiasts are known for their enthusiasm in retrieving lost balls from surrounding areas, often collecting them for reuse or sentimental value.
