A fish and a wedding suit were among the more unusual items left behind in Uber rides across Saudi Arabia, according to the company’s recently released Lost and Found Index. The report highlights a broad range of belongings forgotten by riders throughout the Kingdom, spanning from everyday essentials to unexpected objects.
Typical items commonly misplaced during rides include smartphones, keys, wallets, and various electronic devices such as Apple AirTags and laptops. However, the index also reveals a surprising assortment of food items left on Uber seats, including mangoes, eggs, sausages, potatoes, and macaroni.
Several unique objects also stood out, such as a pair of Crocs footwear, aquarium decoration branches, and a reported 20 chickens, which Uber described as "wayward fowls." Additionally, musical instruments such as guitars, drums, violins, and keyboards were among the items abandoned in rides across the Kingdom.
The index noted that some wedding-day mishaps included grooms accidentally leaving their suits behind in Uber vehicles, contributing to added stress on important occasions. Travelers also left behind souvenirs and travel accessories like fridge magnets, fanny packs, neck pillows, and toiletry kits.
Legal documents, including court summons and divorce papers, appeared on the list of forgotten items, illustrating the variety of personal effects inadvertently left behind.
Youssef Abouseif, general manager of Uber for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, remarked on the wide-ranging stories behind these items, emphasizing that the Lost and Found Index reflects the diversity of rider experiences. He also highlighted the ease with which forgotten belongings can be recovered through Uber’s app-based lost item reporting system.
Riders who discover they have left something behind can report it directly via the app, with many items successfully returned to their owners, demonstrating Uber’s commitment to helping customers retrieve lost property throughout the region.
