A limited-edition padel racket celebrating Kuwait’s cultural heritage drew significant interest during the Premier Padel Kuwait Major held at The Arena. Designed by Spanish sports brand NOX, the official tournament racket—the AT10 Luxury Genius 18K Alum Kuwait Major by Agustín Tapia—marked the first time NOX created a tournament racket dedicated specifically to Kuwait.

The racket incorporates traditional Kuwaiti elements, prominently featuring Al Sadu patterns, a Bedouin weaving art characterized by geometric shapes and symmetrical designs. Al Sadu was added to UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2025. The design incorporates the geographical coordinates of the Kuwait Towers alongside the event’s tournament crest. The frame includes decorative bands displaying both Kuwait’s historical red flag, inscribed with the country’s name in Arabic, and the current national flag. The color scheme uses burgundy, cream, gold, and black in the NOX logo and other motifs.

During Friday’s semifinals, the NOX booth attracted dozens of visitors keen to view and purchase the limited-edition rackets. Abdullah, a Kuwaiti padel player of four years, purchased three rackets with friends. “Kuwait has hosted the P1 and the FIP World Cup pairs in recent years, but this is the first official racket released for Kuwait, so I was excited to get one,” he said. Abdullah intends to use his racket in play, while some of his friends plan to keep theirs as collectibles.

Another Kuwaiti player, Mariam, cited the cultural design as a major draw. “I’m so proud to see the racket carrying Kuwait’s name. I hope Kuwait’s padel scene will continue to grow and achieve more success,” she said. Although she had not yet used the racket, she expressed enthusiasm about trying it on court.

Padel rackets differ fundamentally from tennis rackets in having a solid hitting surface with perforations rather than strings. Their weight, shape, and materials affect power and control. Rackets typically come in three shapes: round, teardrop, and diamond, each suited to different playing styles—from defensive and beginner players to advanced offensive athletes.

The Kuwait Major edition is built with a carbon-fiber surface combined with a black EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) core, chosen for its light weight, temperature resistance, and quick recovery after impacts. Additional features include a textured surface for enhanced spin, aerodynamic channels to improve maneuverability, and an adjustable weight system enabling players to customize the racket’s balance.

The official racket is displayed prominently at the NOX booth throughout the tournament, underscoring Kuwait’s growing presence in the international padel community.
