Aaron Paul is set to join the cast of Prime Video’s “Fallout” for its third season, marking a highly anticipated addition to the post-apocalyptic series. The news, confirmed in May, has generated considerable interest among both fans and the existing cast, though details about Paul’s character have been kept under wraps.

At a recent event in Los Angeles, cast members expressed enthusiasm about Paul’s involvement. Actor Michael Theroux, who currently plays a key role, admitted to knowing little about Paul’s character but anticipated a complex and multifaceted addition to the storyline. “I know nothing. I’m happy to improvise some stuff. It’s probably a very messy character,” Theroux said, highlighting the intrigue surrounding the new role. He added that the cast expects to gather more information once Paul arrives on set.

Ella Purnell, who portrays Lucy McLean, conveyed excitement over Paul’s inclusion, noting that he is both a fan of the “Fallout” games that inspired the series and a longstanding desired guest for the show. “We’ve wanted him on the show forever,” she said, praising his dedication. Purnell also referenced Paul’s previous visit to the set during Season 2 filming in Los Angeles, underscoring his enthusiasm for the project.

Fans, meanwhile, have speculated extensively about Paul’s role, particularly on online forums such as Reddit. Some have theorized that he might portray a significant antagonist linked to the ongoing conflicts between factions like The Brotherhood and the Enclave, with suggestions that he could become a major villain orchestrating events behind the scenes.

Paul’s casting reunites him with executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, with whom he worked on the final season of “Westworld.” This connection adds another layer of anticipation for the upcoming season. Kyle MacLachlan, who plays Hank, welcomed Paul warmly, joking about the potential challenges his character might face in the harsh, irradiated environment. “We’re going to torment him, you know? Death claws, anything we can throw at him,” MacLachlan said.

In addition to Paul’s arrival, Annabel O’Hagan (Stephanie) and Dave Register (Chet) have been promoted from recurring roles to series regulars. O’Hagan’s character was revealed in the Season 2 finale to have been previously married to Hank before the characters entered the vaults beneath the wasteland, opening new plot lines that Season 3 is expected to explore.

The first two seasons of “Fallout” are currently available for streaming on Prime Video as production on the third season progresses.
