Abdullah Al-Salem University in Kuwait has announced the commencement of the 2026/2027 academic year, highlighting its commitment to advancing quality education, innovation, and research to support the country’s development goals. The university has completed extensive academic and administrative preparations, notably inaugurating its College of Medicine and Health Sciences, which has welcomed its initial group of students.

The new college is part of the university’s strategic efforts to expand specialized educational offerings aligned with Kuwait’s evolving healthcare needs. The institution emphasized that the launch aims to contribute to building a qualified national workforce capable of meeting the demands of the healthcare sector, while also keeping pace with rapid advancements in medical sciences and technologies. The addition of this college has been described as a significant enhancement to the higher education landscape in Kuwait.

These developments take place under the patronage and guidance of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

For the current academic year, the university reports an enrollment of 2,725 students across undergraduate bachelor’s degree programs, comprising both continuing and new students. Additionally, 154 students are pursuing postgraduate master’s degrees. Abdullah Al-Salem University encourages students to fully utilize its modern educational facilities, diverse academic programs, and a range of extracurricular activities. The university also promotes engagement with faculty and the use of academic advising and counseling services to support student success.
