The visitors had taken the lead in the first half through Oisin McEntee, who opened the scoring after solid defensive work from Hearts. Aberdeen started strongly and showed early intent, with Aremu Afeez creating opportunities before McEntee’s intervention. Despite several promising moments—including a near assist from Toyosi Olusanya and a headed attempt by captain Kevin Nisbet—Aberdeen were unable to break through before halftime.

The second half saw limited clear-cut chances. Claudio Braga had a notable attempt for Hearts but was unable to trouble the Aberdeen goal significantly, while Hearts keeper Reus was called into action sparingly as Aberdeen controlled possession but failed to craft high-quality opportunities.
