The Ananda Business Network (ABN) hosted the Ananda Golfers Tournament 2026 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club, bringing together former students of Ananda College from multiple generations. The event is distinctive as Sri Lanka’s only golf tournament organised exclusively by a single school alumni network, underscoring the strong community ties among Old Anandians.
This year’s tournament featured 36 participants spanning various age groups and was played under the Stableford scoring system, creating a competitive yet inclusive atmosphere. The event culminated in an evening reception, which served as an opportunity for participants to engage in fellowship and professional networking.
Among the distinguished guests were Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd.), former Secretary of Defence and current President of the Old Anandians Sports Club.
Thejan de Silva claimed the title of Overall Net Winner, with Mevan Gunatilleke finishing as runner-up. Chandana Gunasekara secured the Gross Winner position, while Bandula Weerasinghe was the runner-up in that category.
Primal Wijenayake, President of the Ananda Business Network, said the tournament plays a key role in strengthening relationships within the Anandian community while promoting sportsmanship, networking, and enduring friendships.
