Jackson Koivun captured his first PGA Tour title at the 3M Open on July 26, marking an impressive early milestone in his professional career. The 21-year-old secured victory in just his third PGA Tour start as a professional, finishing with a tournament-record score of 25-under 259 at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota. Koivun closed the event with a 5-under 66, beating world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler by three strokes.

Koivun’s performance was highlighted by a remarkable stretch on Saturday, when he played the final 10 holes in 9 under par. His 61 set a new back-nine scoring record of 28 and tied the existing 54-hole tournament scoring record at 18-under. By the end of the third round, Koivun had built a comfortable three-stroke lead over Scheffler, who was six strokes behind at that point.

Despite Koivun’s lead, Scheffler mounted a strong charge in the final round, carding a 63 to finish 22 under overall. His runner-up finish marked his fifth second-place result of the season but extended a 182-day winless stretch for the world No. 1.
