Veteran Singaporean actor Chew Chor Meng’s eldest daughter, Chloe, has graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a degree in communications, the family announced on July 22. Chloe, 24, completed her studies at the university’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

The news was shared by Chew’s wife, Deon Tan, on social media, where she expressed pride in Chloe’s achievements and personal qualities. Tan described her daughter as disciplined, mature, responsible, and someone who has consistently been a source of joy and reassurance to the family. “Happy graduation, my dear daughter. We are so proud of the woman you have become. May God continue to bless and guide you always,” she wrote.

A family photograph accompanying the announcement showed Chew, 57, alongside Chloe in her graduation gown, along with Tan and their younger daughter, Cheyenne, 22, and Chew’s mother. Chew was not present in the photos taken during the graduation ceremony itself.

Chew Chor Meng, once a prominent television actor in Singapore, has faced significant health challenges in recent years. Diagnosed in 2008 with Kennedy’s disease, a rare neuromuscular disorder that causes muscle atrophy and affects movement, speech, and swallowing, he has since stepped back from his earlier public roles. Despite these challenges, Chew has found new ventures in the food and beverage industry. He is a co-owner of the Thai steamboat barbecue chain 888 Mookata alongside local host and DJ Dennis Chew, as well as Tam Chiak Kopitiam, a coffee shop in Hougang, which they run with food content creator Maureen Ow.

Chew has also returned to the entertainment scene in various capacities. He recently appeared in the Channel 8 drama "Where The Heart Belongs," scheduled for release in 2025. In May, he released "After The Curtain Falls," an AI-generated song reflecting on his 36-year career in show business.
