Actress Beverley Callard has disclosed that she lost consciousness while filming the Irish soap opera Fair City, leading to an ambulance being called to the set. Callard, 69, who joined the show in January as Lily Patterson, shared the details in an Instagram video.

According to Callard, the incident occurred as she was preparing to begin a new scene. She described suddenly losing consciousness for about 10 minutes, an experience she found unusual and concerning. Due to workplace protocols, emergency responders were summoned to assess her condition. Although an ambulance arrived, Callard said she was reluctant to go to the hospital but eventually recovered and felt fine afterward.

The actress recounted feeling “boiling hot” before leaving the set and was advised by paramedics to rest over the weekend. She also noted that her blood pressure was found to be significantly elevated at the time.

Callard attributed her ongoing health issues to the aftereffects of recent cancer treatment. She has been undergoing tests, including biopsies, and is awaiting further results. She revealed that she finished her last radiotherapy session in July following a breast cancer diagnosis and has experienced persistent nausea since then.

Despite the scare, Callard stated that she currently feels well enough to be at home and expressed confusion about the cause of the episode. She is scheduled for hospital appointments to investigate her symptoms further.

Callard is best known for her previous role as Liz McDonald on Coronation Street, a part she played intermittently from 1989 until 2020. In Fair City, she continues her acting career while managing the health challenges that have emerged during her recovery.
