Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) reported a 27 percent increase in net profit after tax to AED 10.3 billion for the first nine months of 2026, driven by strong lending growth, higher fee income, and reduced impairment charges. Profit before tax rose 28 percent to AED 11.67 billion during the same period, while operating income increased 10 percent to AED 18.31 billion.

In the third quarter alone, net profit after tax climbed 15 percent to AED 3.56 billion, from AED 3.09 billion in the corresponding period of 2025. Profit before tax for the quarter reached AED 4.06 billion, marking ADCB’s 21st consecutive quarter of profit growth.

The bank’s performance was supported by higher income from fees and trading activities. Net fees and commission income rose 24 percent to AED 3.37 billion, while net trading income increased 39 percent to AED 2.89 billion. Combined net interest income, which includes income from Islamic financing and investing products, grew to AED 11.34 billion from AED 10.86 billion a year earlier.

Asset expansion was notable, with total assets reaching AED 890 billion at the end of September—a 20 percent increase year-on-year and 15 percent rise since the start of 2026. Net loans and advances to customers increased by AED 66 billion or 18 percent compared to the previous year, reaching AED 469 billion. This included net loan growth of AED 24 billion during the third quarter alone. Customer deposits also climbed 16 percent year-on-year to AED 558.2 billion, increasing by AED 58.4 billion since January.

ADCB’s investment portfolio expanded modestly, with net investment securities rising to AED 169.2 billion from AED 166.1 billion at the end of 2025. Cash and balances with central banks increased to AED 74.9 billion from AED 63 billion during the same period.

The bank saw a decline in impairment charges, which fell to AED 1.65 billion over the nine-month period from AED 2.92 billion the previous year. Third-quarter impairment charges dropped by more than half to AED 472 million compared with AED 1.09 billion a year earlier. This improvement contributed to stronger profitability, alongside a modest rise in operating expenses to AED 5.01 billion from AED 4.60 billion. The cost-to-income ratio improved by 40 basis points to 27.3 percent.

The non-performing loan ratio also decreased to 1.6 percent from 1.83 percent in the previous year, signaling improved asset quality. Return on average equity after tax rose to 16.2 percent, up 144 basis points year-on-year. Basic earnings per share increased to AED 1.25 from AED 1.02.

ADCB’s total equity stood at AED 91.1 billion at the end of September, up from AED 88.7 billion at the start of the year. During the reporting period, the bank paid AED 4.99 billion in cash dividends, following shareholder approval of a dividend of AED 0.63 per share for 2025.

Group Chief Executive Officer Ala’a Eraiqat attributed the bank’s sustained growth to its strong market position, diversified business model, and disciplined execution of strategic priorities. He highlighted healthy financing demand across corporate, retail, and private banking sectors amid the UAE’s broader economic expansion.
