Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (Adib) announced that subscription for its Dh1.75 billion rights issue will open on November 10 and close on November 24, 2026. Trading of the new shares is scheduled to begin on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) from December 18.

Shareholders must have purchased Adib shares by October 29 to be eligible for the offering, with the eligibility date set for November 2. Subscription rights will be tradable on ADX between November 4 and 16, allowing eligible shareholders to buy or sell their rights during that period.

The rights issue, which was approved by shareholders on October 6, follows regulatory approvals from the Central Bank of the UAE and the Capital Market Authority. Adib plans to raise up to Dh1.75 billion through the issuance of up to 106.38 million new ordinary shares, priced at Dh16.45 each. This price includes a nominal value of Dh1 and a share premium of Dh15.45 and represents a 28.8% discount to Adib’s closing share price on August 24, 2026.

Eligible shareholders will receive approximately one subscription right for every 34.14 shares they hold, with each right entitling them to purchase one new share. Upon completion, the bank’s issued and paid-up share capital will increase from Dh3.632 billion to Dh3.738 billion.

Shareholders who choose not to participate in the rights issue can sell their subscription rights on the ADX during the specified trading period. Those who neither subscribe nor sell their rights will retain their existing shares but will experience dilution in their ownership percentage once the new shares are issued.

To facilitate participation, Adib will serve as the sole receiving bank for the rights issue. Eligible shareholders can subscribe through the ADX ePortal, participating Adib branches, or digitally via the Adib Mobile App for existing customers. The bank emphasized that multiple subscription channels aim to enhance convenience and accessibility for shareholders.

The capital raise supports Adib’s ongoing expansion under its Vision 2035 strategy, aimed at driving growth while maintaining a robust capital base. Mohamed Abdelbary, Group Chief Executive Officer, noted that the bank is entering a new growth phase supported by strong business momentum and attractive market opportunities. He highlighted that the additional equity would increase the bank’s capacity to finance growth while preserving capital strength.

At the end of the first half of 2026, Adib reported total assets exceeding Dh304 billion, surpassing the Dh300 billion mark. The bank recorded a return on equity of 28%, maintaining a stable performance compared with 29% in 2025 and 28% in 2024. Abdelbary has also underscored plans to advance the bank’s digital transformation and artificial intelligence capabilities as part of its long-term growth ambitions.
