Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) is advancing plans to develop new local manufacturing capabilities across the United Arab Emirates, targeting the production of around 200 additional products and a variety of critical spare parts. The initiative, valued at 60 billion dirhams (approximately $16.3 billion), was announced on Tuesday at the second Make It with Adnoc Forum held in Abu Dhabi.

Omar Abdulla Alnumaimi, Group Chief of Adnoc’s Commercial & In-Country Value Executive Function, outlined the company’s approach to identifying these opportunities. He explained that the list of products was derived after a comprehensive review of Adnoc’s growth objectives, investment strategies, and capital expenditure programs, with an emphasis on establishing a resilient domestic supply chain to support ongoing and future projects.

The expanded manufacturing portfolio includes items such as electrical submersible pumps, seamless pipes, compressors, various pumps, electrical components, spare parts, catalysts, and chemicals. Adnoc has invited participation from both small enterprises and larger firms to help build the identified products and facilities.

Since launching its In-Country Value (ICV) program in 2018, Adnoc has fostered substantial economic contributions within the UAE, generating 307 billion dirhams in local value. The program’s annual impact has increased significantly, rising from 18 billion dirhams in 2018 to an expected 65 billion dirhams by 2025. This growth has been accompanied by the creation of approximately 27,500 Emirati private-sector jobs.

Progress toward Adnoc’s 2030 targets is well underway. The company has already realized 80 billion dirhams of its 90 billion-dirham local manufacturing goal, supporting the production of 130 locally manufactured products. Additionally, Adnoc has enabled the establishment or expansion of 95 factories across the UAE.

This latest push aligns with the UAE’s broader strategy to bolster domestic industrial capacity and reduce reliance on imports, particularly in sectors critical to the nation’s energy infrastructure. Adnoc’s focus on local content and value creation is seen as a key driver in supporting the country’s economic diversification and long-term sustainability.
