Adrian Meronk secured a crucial victory at the Dunhill Links Championship on Monday, posting a final-round 4-under-par 68 to claim the title at the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland. The 33-year-old Polish golfer’s two-shot win over Casey Jarvis and Niklas Norgaard earned him a full card on the DP World Tour for the 2027 season, a significant achievement amid uncertain circumstances surrounding LIV Golf.

Meronk, who was named European Tour player of the year in 2023, had faced challenges after being left off the Ryder Cup team in Rome that year. In 2024, he made headlines by joining LIV Golf, a controversial breakaway series that has since filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Earlier this year, Meronk was among eight players who negotiated a deal with the European Tour allowing them to retain their membership despite their involvement with LIV Golf.

The Dunhill Links Championship marked Meronk’s fifth European Tour title and one of his most important wins, as it guarantees his status on the DP World Tour amid ongoing uncertainties in professional golf. The tournament concluded with a tense finish on the 18th hole, known as the Valley of Sin, where Jarvis, attempting an eagle, failed to hole out, leaving Meronk’s position unchallenged.

Jarvis finished with a 72, tying for second place alongside Norgaard, who carded a 68. Notably, Norgaard’s amateur partner during the event was Jay Monahan, the outgoing commissioner of the PGA Tour, highlighting the tournament’s blend of professional competition and celebrity presence.

Meronk’s victory not only secures his European Tour card but also positions him well for the upcoming season as the professional golf landscape continues to evolve.
