Adrian Peterson will be inducted into the Minnesota Vikings’ ring of honor during the upcoming NFL season, the team announced. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at halftime of a home game, though a specific date has not yet been confirmed, as the full 2026 NFL schedule is set to be released later this week.
Peterson, 41, will become the 29th individual to receive this distinction from the Vikings. He spent the majority of his career with the team, playing from 2007 through 2016. During his tenure, Peterson earned the NFL Most Valuable Player award in 2012 and set franchise records for career rushing yards (11,747) and rushing touchdowns (97).
Beyond his time in Minnesota, Peterson accumulated a total of 14,918 rushing yards over a career that ranks fifth all-time in NFL history. His professional journey also included stints with the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals in 2017, the Washington Football Team from 2018 to 2019, the Detroit Lions in 2020, and brief periods with the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks in 2021.
The Vikings’ ring of honor recognizes players, coaches, and contributors who have made significant impacts on the franchise. Peterson’s induction reflects his status as one of the most accomplished players in team history and his lasting influence on the organization.
