An Afghan boxer has been charged with the killing of a British charity worker in Greece, authorities confirmed. Sharif Ahmadzai, 26, is accused of intentionally causing the death of Elisabeth-Jane Ross, 38, who was known as Lisa. Ross had been volunteering in Greece alongside Ahmadzai's wife, American Alaina Ahmadzai.

According to statements given to police, Alaina Ahmadzai recalled waking suddenly in the early hours, around 3 a.m., with a troubling sensation that her friend might be in danger. She reported having a "terrible" feeling after recalling news of a woman’s body found inside a suitcase, fearing it could be Lisa. This fear was later confirmed when it became known that the body discovered was indeed Ross’s.

Sharif Ahmadzai remains in custody on charges that include intentional homicide, theft of 10,000 euros, and illegal possession of a weapon. Authorities have not yet provided further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident or the ongoing investigation.

Ross, a dedicated charity worker, had been volunteering alongside Alaina Ahmadzai, who is providing information to investigators. The nature of the relationship between the accused and the victim, beyond these connections, has not been disclosed. The case continues to develop as officials work to establish a clearer timeline and motive.
