The Department of Rural Development, operating under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, has initiated an agricultural technology training course in Tunpin Village, Mawlaik Township, Sagaing Region. The program, aimed at creating job opportunities and supplementing family incomes for rural residents, is currently underway.

Officials from the Mawlaik District and Township Departments of Rural Development conducted a field inspection of the training on September 10. District Head Daw Than Than Myint and Township Head Daw Aye Aye Aung, along with other responsible officials, met with the participants to discuss the program’s objectives and encourage careful study of the agricultural techniques presented.

The training, which runs from September 7 to 18, is being attended by 20 trainees drawn from various villages across Mawlaik Township. Experienced instructors provide both theoretical and practical instruction free of charge over the 12-day period. Course topics include natural farming benefits, the roles of beneficial microorganisms, ecological advantages of natural fertilizers, methods for producing fertilizer, and the preparation of Effective Microorganism (EM) solutions.

Officials emphasized the importance of applying the knowledge gained to generate additional income for families after completing the course. The program forms part of broader efforts to support sustainable livelihoods in the region through knowledge transfer and capacity building in agriculture.
