Swedish artificial intelligence company Legora has secured $550 million in a new funding round, propelling its valuation to $8.8 billion. The investment round was led by Boston-based Atreides Management and included participation from several prominent institutional investors such as Baron Capital, Capital Group, Fidelity Management & Research, and Glade Brook Capital Partners. Existing major shareholders also took part in the latest financing.

Legora plans to allocate the new capital primarily toward expanding its presence in the North American market. The firm gained wider recognition earlier this year following an extensive advertising campaign in the United Kingdom, which featured actor Jude Law as the campaign’s face.

The infusion of funds marks a significant milestone in Legora’s growth strategy as it seeks to enhance its capabilities and market share amid rising global competition in the artificial intelligence sector. The company’s focus on international expansion reflects broader trends of European tech firms targeting the sizable North American technology ecosystem.
