Las Vegas — Las Vegas Aces forward Satou Sabally has been listed as questionable for Thursday’s game against the Seattle Storm due to a head injury, the team announced Wednesday. Sabally left early in Tuesday’s 87-76 win over the Aces after sustaining what the team initially described as a facial injury.

Sabally exited the game with 6:17 remaining in the second quarter and did not return after halftime, officially ruled out by the end of the third quarter. The exact moment the injury occurred is unclear, though Sabally appeared to be struck near the head by NaLyssa Smith in the first quarter around the 5:31 mark. After the contact, Sabally was called for a foul and momentarily sat on the floor, removing her glasses and rubbing her eyes before briefly returning to the court at the start of the second quarter.

Following the game, Aces head coach Chris DeMarco stated that Sabally is expected to be "all right" and confirmed she was not undergoing evaluation for a concussion. However, the injury raises concerns due to Sabally’s previous concussion history. During the 2026 WNBA Finals, Sabally was helped off the floor in Game 3 and subsequently ruled out with a concussion. Lingering symptoms from that injury affected her offseason recovery, delaying her return to basketball activities until March.

Sabally was a significant offseason acquisition for the Aces, joining as a top free agent. She missed the opening games this season due to a cyst and was sidelined briefly with an undisclosed illness. After serving eight games off the bench, Sabally rejoined the starting lineup on Sunday. Over 13 games this season, she has averaged 10.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Tuesday’s victory ended Las Vegas’ two-game losing streak and is seen as one of the team's strongest performances this season. The Aces improved to 12-6, securing fourth place in the WNBA standings as they prepare to face the 3-15 Seattle Storm on Thursday. The Storm are enduring an 11-game losing streak and have not won a game in over a month. Seattle is led by head coach Sonia Raman, formerly an assistant with Las Vegas.
